Malbec

Malbec is a variety that we have really come to appreciate, even though it is our most eccentric and misbehaved grape in the vineyard. Malbec can be the most exciting variety, potentially one-dimensional yet so concentrated, pure and expressive with huge fruit tannins giving you the impression of a complete wine with a vibrant harmony. A very special wine!

Food suggestions
Malbec goes very well with a variety of foods, similar to those that complement Syrah. With its intensely vibrant, dark-berry concentration this unique wine is also very enjoyable on its own.
Try:
  • Perhaps with a few thin slices of air-dried beef and/or shaved Parmesan cheese.
  • In hotter vintages like 1998, the wine takes on a dimension and textural richness beyond its varietal expression, elevating itself to a refined dinner wine.
