Clayvin Vineyard

Located on the north facing slopes of the Brancott Valley, Clayvin vineyard takes its unique name from the clay based soil profile that lies beneath the vineyard. The complex clay profile varies across the vineyard allowing us to grow a number of different varieties, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah.

The clay soil gives our red wines richness and generosity and an immediately appealing soft texture. Chardonnay also produced from this vineyard shows a beautiful terroir related minerality not often seen in the new world.

High density planting allows us the opportunity to carry very low yields per vine. Low yielding vines tend to produce wines of great concentration and richness.

Under the careful guidance of Georg Fromm this vineyard has consistently produced grapes of outstanding quality.
